Bugaboos Alpine Climbing

Climbing in the Bugaboos with an IFMGA mountain guide is an amazing adventure for everyone, no matter your skill level. You'll be surrounded by stunning granite spires and beautiful glacial views that make for a stunning backdrop. Your guide will keep you safe and share tips to help you tackle those challenging routes. Get ready to enjoy the thrill of reaching new heights and really experience the beauty of the Purcell mountains.

Details


Bugaboos trips are best done with a minimum of 3 days, with a start in Golden, BC where you will meet your IFMGA guide on the morning of day 1.

We will then travel to the Bugaboo Provincial Park trailhead and begin the hike to the Conrad Kain Hut or the Applebee camp ground. After setting up camp and settling in, we will get organized for the next day's objective.

  • The Northeast ridge of Bugaboo Spire (D-, 5.8, 12p)

  • Kain Route on Bugaboo Spire (AD, 5.6, 450m)

  • West ridge of Pigeon Spire (PD, 5.4, 500m)

  • East Ridge of Marmolata (AD-, 5.6, 280m)

  • Surf’s Up on Snowpatch Spire (D, 5.9, 9p)

  • Snowpatch Route on Snowpatch Spire (D-, 5.8, 19p)

  • Lion’s Way on Crescent Tower (PD+, 5.6, 6p)

  • Ears Between on Crescent Tower (AD, 5.7, 6p)

  • McTech Arête on Crescent Spire (D-, 5.10-, 6p)

  • The Beckey-Chouinard on the South Howser Tower (TD+, 5.10, 22p)​​​​​​​​
